WOrmerveer is the only village in the Zaandam region with an open waterfront. The homes there face the Zaan River, so residents had a clear view of the factories across the river. The Zaanbocht area features various specialty shops and restaurants
During the summer months, several outdoor cafes along the Zaan are open, where you can enjoy a drink and the view of the river.

Frans Marspad Walking Trail
This walking trail runs from Wormerveer Station through the vast Guisveld to Zaandijk. Crossing narrow bridges, the trail takes you across the long, narrow islands of the Guisveld. On the horizon
the city's skyline can be seen. The Guisveld is a brackish peat bog where livestock farming has been practiced for centuries.
