"Art from the Bend" Becomes the UIT Festival for the Arts

This year, we’re giving the art market a makeover and will be presenting Kunst uit de Bocht as an “Outdoor Festival for the Arts.” This means we’ll also be making room for performing arts such as singing, dance, musicals, theater, opera, cabaret, spoken word, and more. We hope this will make Kunst uit de Bocht even more appealing to visitors of this annual cultural and artistic event.
This year, we are organizing “Kunst uit de Bocht” in the Zaanbocht in Wormerveer on June 20, 2026. In addition to an art market featuring 100 visual artists, performing artists will give live performances. The performing arts events will not take place at the market itself, but at De Vermaning on stages we will set up there. The Vermaning is a church and also serves as the Cultural Center of Wormerveer, offering space for performances, concerts, and events. It is an ideal venue for performances by performing artists. Art Zaanstad will also organize an exhibition at the Vermaning. As we do every year, in addition to the art market and the activities mentioned above, we’ll offer many more extra activities, such as workshops, demonstrations, and a Kids’ Activity Square. At this square, there will be a special activity where Zaanse history, language, and art come together in the Veenmonster Project!

A comprehensive experience in the realm of art and culture

Market stalls measuring approximately 3 meters by 1.20 meters will be set up along a long stretch of the waterfront at the Zaanbocht in Wormerveer. The market stalls will form a ribbon stretching from Zaanweg 124 roughly to the Vermaning, so that market visitors can also see and hear the performing artists in action. In this way, Kunst Uit de Bocht 2026 will be a wonderful mix of visual and performing arts—in short, a total experience in the realm of art and culture!
