Early this morning, I spoke with Pieter Stam, a project developer at Dreef Beheer, about the development in Wormerland—Here on the Zaan. Work is underway on Veerdijk on a large-scale plan that will be a beautiful and valuable addition to the neighborhood. It’s inspiring to see how development here is driven by vision, with an eye for both quality and the future of the area. And of course Wormerveer as well, where we share the Zaanbocht—a place with character and history, which gives these developments extra significance.

What makes this area unique is its combination of tranquility, accessibility, and amenities: a short distance from the beach, close to our capital city, and with all daily necessities, shops, and the train station within easy reach. In addition, beautiful nature areas are within walking distance, contributing to a particularly pleasant living environment. Housing is a key theme within our comprehensive vision, which we developed in 2014–2016. This vision centers, among other things, on the unique role of housing, particularly in relation to former industrial heritage and the transformation of old industrial sites.
